Integration

Phone System Integration

Your published number is an asset. Phone system integration keeps it exactly as it is and routes calls to the AI layer through your existing telephony, with no change your customers can see.

What gets configured

  • Forwarding rules: always, on busy or on no answer
  • Which numbers or extensions are covered
  • Transfer paths back to your desk phones and mobiles
  • Call recording arrangements and notices
  • Fallback behaviour if a connection fails

Nobody Should Have to Change Your Number

Your number appears on your signage, your vehicles, your business listing and years of printed material. Any arrangement that requires changing it is starting from a position of loss, and it is almost never necessary.

In most deployments, calls to your existing number are forwarded to the AI layer under a rule you choose. Everything else stays where it is: your handsets, your extensions, your provider and your billing arrangement.

Transfers work in the same direction. When a call needs a person, it is passed back to the desk phone or mobile you nominate, using the paths your telephony already supports.

What It Delivers

Your number is unchanged

No reprinting, no updating listings, no customers dialling a number that no longer works.

You choose the trigger

Every call, only when busy, or only outside hours. The rule can change as your confidence grows.

Existing equipment stays

Handsets, extensions and internal transfers continue working as they do now.

Failure has a plan

If the connection is unavailable, calls fall back to your defined destination rather than disappearing.

How the Setup Runs

Current setup reviewed

We establish what your provider supports, which numbers matter and how transfers currently work.

Rules chosen

You decide when calls divert, and which numbers or extensions are included.

Forwarding applied

The divert is configured with your provider, usually a straightforward change on their portal.

Paths tested

Inbound answering, transfer back to your team and fallback behaviour are all tested before launch.

Where Telephony Detail Matters

Hotels

Extensions, departments and in-house guest calls all interact with the main line.

IT support companies

On-call rotations require transfers that follow the roster rather than a fixed number.

Automotive workshops

Service desk, parts and breakdown calls arrive on one number and need different destinations.

Deployment Notes

A single mobile or landline forwarding to the AI layer is the simplest arrangement, described under small business deployments.

Organisations with a PBX, multiple sites or existing contact centre infrastructure need a more careful design, covered under enterprise deployments and alongside the rest of the feature library.

Telephony Questions

Do we need to port our number?

Usually not. Forwarding from your existing number is the standard arrangement and avoids the risk and delay of porting.

Will our call charges change?

Call carriage remains billed by your provider under your existing plan. Forwarding may affect charges, and we flag that during scoping.

Can we cover several numbers?

Yes, and each can have its own flow. Separate campaign numbers are a common way to measure marketing performance.

What happens during an outage?

Fallback routing sends calls to a destination you nominate, so a technical problem does not become an unanswered phone.

Is call recording included?

Recording and transcription arrangements are configured with you, including any notice given to callers, and agreed before launch.
